West Jefferson Roughriders (West Jefferson, OH) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mechanicsburg Indians (Mechanicsburg, OH), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Roughriders now sport a 12-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northeastern for a Ohio Heritage North challenge on Tuesday, April 25. West Jefferson will face a Jets squad coming off a 17-4 league win over Triad (North Lewisburg, OH). The Jets record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, Mechanicsburg falls to 11-2 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Fairbanks (Milford Center, OH) to face the Panthers in a Ohio Heritage North challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 8-9. Fairbanks won 11-2 in their recent league challenge against West Liberty-Salem (West Liberty, OH)
