The Smithfield Sentinels softball team scored 6 runs and limited the visiting North Kingstown Skippers to 1 in the Sentinels non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Smithfield improves its record to 3-4 on the year. The Sentinels travel to Scituate (North Scituate, RI) to clash with the Spartans in a non-league game on Wednesday, April 26. The Spartans come into the game with a record of 1-6. Scituate won 9-2 in their recent non-league game against Moses Brown (Providence, RI)

In their next game, the Skippers clash with the Chariho Chargers (Wood River Junction, RI) in a Division 1B (State) game, on Wednesday, April 26. North Kingstown will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record. The Chargers come into the game with a 4-5 record after their 14-3 league loss to St. Mary Academy-Bay View (East Providence, RI).
