The Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers (Houston, PA) softball routed the host Avella Eagles (Avella, PA), 24-0 in Wednesday's league bout.

The Buccaneers (8-1) will now prepare for their challenge against West Greene (Waynesburg, PA). The Pioneers enter the WPIAL 1A 2 challenge with a 7-4 record. In their last challenge, West Greene defeated Jefferson-Morgan (Jefferson, PA), 6-4, in a league challenge.

With the loss, Avella falls to 3-9 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Bethlehem Center (Fredericktown, PA) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 0-1.
