The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC) and the visiting Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC), saw East Surry's softball squad achieve victory over Mount Airy by a count of 15-0.

The Cardinals now sport a 7-11 record. They take the field next when they host Forbush for a Foothills 2A match on Friday, April 26. East Surry will face a Falcons squad coming off a 16-0 league win over Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 14-8.

With the loss, Mount Airy falls to 1-17 on the campaign. The Granite bears host Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to face the Trojans in a Northwest 1A match on Friday, April 26. The Trojans enter the match with a record of 1-16. Alleghany lost 29-23 in their recent non-league match against Hickory (Hickory, NC)
