Geneseo Maple Leafs (Geneseo, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Erie-Prophetstown Panthers (Erie, IL), 17-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Maple Leafs now own a 12-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Moline United for a Western Big 6 challenge on Thursday, April 25. Geneseo will face a Panthers squad coming off a 17-1 league win over Galesburg (Galesburg, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 10-6.

With the loss, Erie-Prophetstown falls to 6-10 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Morrison (Morrison, IL) to face the Mustangs in a Three Rivers West challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 11-6. Morrison won 16-0 in their recent league challenge against Monmouth-Roseville (Monmouth, IL)
