The Giles Spartans got by the host Fort Chiswell Pioneers softball squad by a count of 3-2 in Wednesday's league battle.

The Spartans (6-6) will now prepare for their battle against Narrows (Narrows, VA). The Green Waves go into the non-league battle with a 0-9 record. In their last battle, Narrows was edged by Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA), 22-3, in a league battle.

The Pioneers now sport a 6-7 record. They play next when they travel to George Wythe for a Mountain Empire battle on Friday, April 26. Fort Chiswell will meet a Maroons squad coming off a 15-0 non-league win over Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA). The Maroons record now stands at 8-0.
