Rockford Auburn Knights (Rockford, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Guilford Vikings (Rockford, IL), 6-1 in a league challenge.

The Knights now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Jefferson for a Northern Illinois NIC-9 challenge on Thursday, April 25. Rockford Auburn will battle a J-Hawks squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Harlem (Machesney Park, IL). The J-Hawks record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, Guilford falls to 6-9 on the campaign. The Vikings host Hononegah (Rockton, IL) to battle the Indians in a Northern Illinois NIC-9 challenge on Friday, April 26. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 14-1. Hononegah won 18-3 in their recent league challenge against Boylan Catholic (Rockford, IL)
