The Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) softball nipped the visiting Tunstall Trojans (Dry Fork, VA), 4-3 in Wednesday's league bout.

The Comets (12-3) will now prepare for their bout against Mecklenburg County (Baskerville, VA). The Phoenix go into the Piedmont bout with a 8-5 record. In their last bout, Mecklenburg County held off Bassett (Bassett, VA), 18-0, in a league bout.

The Trojans now possess a 8-5 record. They play next when they host Temple Christian for a non-league bout on Thursday, April 25. Tunstall will confront a Crusaders squad coming off a 6-1 non-league loss to Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA). The Crusaders record now stands at 6-4.
