West Greene Pioneers (Waynesburg, PA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Jefferson-Morgan Rockets (Jefferson, PA), 6-4 in a league challenge.

The Pioneers now sport a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chartiers-Houston for a WPIAL 1A 2 challenge on Thursday, April 25. West Greene will face a Buccaneers squad coming off a 24-0 league win over Avella (Avella, PA). The Buccaneers record now stands at 8-1.

With the loss, Jefferson-Morgan falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Rockets host Mapletown (Greensboro, PA) to face the Maples in a WPIAL 1A 2 challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Maples enter the challenge with a record of 4-6. Mapletown lost 12-2 in their recent league challenge against West Greene (Waynesburg, PA)
