Marcellus Mustangs (Marcellus, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Jordan-Elbridge Eagles (Jordan, NY), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cicero-North Syracuse for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 27. Marcellus will battle a Northstars squad coming off a 15-1 non-league win over Windsor Central (Windsor, NY). The Northstars record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Jordan-Elbridge falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Eagles host Baldwinsville (Baldwinsville, NY) to battle the Bees in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Bees enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Baldwinsville lost 10-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Camden (Camden, NY)
