Leigh Longhorns (San Jose, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Westmont Warriors (Campbell, CA), 12-5 in a league challenge.

The Longhorns now own a 8-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Leland for a Mount Hamilton challenge on Friday, April 26. Leigh will battle a Chargers squad coming off a 8-5 league loss to Santa Teresa (San Jose, CA). The Chargers record now stands at 10-8.

With the loss, Westmont falls to 4-19 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Branham (San Jose, CA) to battle the Bruins in a Mount Hamilton challenge on Wednesday, May 1. The Bruins enter the challenge with a record of 15-8. Branham lost 6-3 in their recent league challenge against Gilroy (Gilroy, CA)
