Newfield Trojans (Newfield, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Marathon Olympians (Marathon, NY), 13-12 in a non-league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Southern Cayuga for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 25. Newfield will battle a Chiefs squad coming off a 12-0 non-league win over Newark Valley (Newark Valley, NY). The Chiefs record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Marathon falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Olympians travel to Tioga (Tioga Center, NY) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 3-1. Tioga won 14-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Moravia (Moravia, NY)
