Santa Rosa Warriors (Santa Rosa, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Monte Alto Blue Devil (Monte Alto, TX), 17-16 in a non-league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Santa Gertrudis Academy for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 2. Santa Rosa will battle a Lions squad coming off a 16-0 non-league win over Odem (Odem, TX). The Lions record now stands at 22-4.

With the loss, Monte Alto moves to 9-4 on the season.
