Dowagiac Chieftains (Dowagiac, MI) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting St. Joseph Bears (St. Joseph, MI), 15-14 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Dowagiac upgrades its record to 3-4 on the year. The Chieftains host Lakeshore (Stevensville, MI) to play the Lancers in a non-league game on Monday, April 28. The Lancers enter the game with a record of 1-2.

The Bears now own a 0-2 record. They play next when they host Buchanan for a non-league game on Friday, May 2.
