Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team get by the host Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA), 1-0 in a league test.

With the triumph, Alleghany moves its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Carroll County (Hillsville, VA) to meet the Cavaliers in a Three Rivers test on Tuesday, April 29. The Cavaliers enter the contest with a record of 3-4. Carroll County lost 2-1 in their recent league contest against Radford (Radford, VA)

The Buffaloes (1-6) will now prepare for their contest against James River (Buchanan, VA). The Knights enter the Three Rivers contest with a 2-5 record. In their last contest, James River was nipped by Glenvar (Salem, VA), 8-0, in a league contest.
