Surry County Cougars (Dendron, VA) supporters left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad thwart the visiting Brunswick Bulldogs (Lawrenceville, VA), 16-3 in a league game.

With the triumph, Surry County improves its record to 2-5 on the year. The Cougars host Tidewater Academy (Wakefield, VA) to play the Warriors in a non-league game on Monday, April 28. The Warriors enter the game with a record of 1-9. Tidewater Academy lost 13-4 in their recent league game against Southampton Academy (Courtland, VA)

The Bulldogs now hold a 0-5 record. They play next when they travel to Franklin for a Tri-Rivers game on Tuesday, April 29.
