The Newcomb Skyhawks softball team scored 20 runs and held the visiting Thoreau Hawks to 9 in the Skyhawks league win on Thursday.

The Skyhawks now sport a 5-16 record. They put it on the line next when they host Zuni for a 3A District 1 battle on Tuesday, April 29. Newcomb will confront a Thunderbirds team coming off a 12-8 league loss to Thoreau (Thoreau, NM). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 4-15.

With the loss, Thoreau moves to 8-13 on the season. The Hawks travel to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to confront the Eagles in a 3A District 1 battle on Tuesday, April 29. The Eagles come into the battle with a record of 14-5. Navajo Prep won 13-11 in their recent league battle against Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM)
