In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Steubenville Big Red softball team scored a tight 6-5 victory over the Weir Red Riders.
The Big Red (16-3) will now prepare for their match against Louisville (Louisville, OH). The Leopards go into the non-league match with a 8-10 record. In their last match, Louisville was nipped by Riverside (Painesville, OH), 7-3, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Red Riders battle the Wheeling Park Patriots (Wheeling, WV) in a non-league match, on Friday, April 25. Weir will attempt to better on its 21-5 season record. The Patriots go into the match with a 9-14 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Morgantown (Morgantown, WV).
