North Carolina High School Softball - Gates County bounces Bertie

The Gates County Red Barons softball team scored 17 runs and held the visiting Bertie Falcons to 2 in the Red Barons league win on Friday.

The Red Barons now sport a 12-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Camden County for a Albemarle (AAC) 2A battle on Tuesday, April 28. Gates County will confront a Bruins team coming off a 12-1 league loss to Manteo (Manteo, NC). The Bruins record now stands at 10-10.

With the loss, Bertie moves to 3-13 on the season. The Falcons travel to Perquimans County (Hertford, NC) to confront the Pirates in a Albemarle (AAC) 2A battle on Monday, April 27. The Pirates come into the battle with a record of 11-7. Perquimans County won 9-1 in their recent league battle against Holmes (Edenton, NC)
