Polk County Wildcats (Benton, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Greenback Cherokees (Greenback, TN), 15-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 7-9 record. They take the field next when they host Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences for a 2A District 4 challenge on Tuesday, April 26. Polk County will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 9-1 non-league win over Red Bank (Chattanooga, TN). The Patriots record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Greenback falls to 10-4 on the campaign. The Cherokees travel to Midway (Kingston, TN) to battle the Green Wave in a 1A District 4 challenge on Wednesday, April 27. The Green Wave enter the challenge with a record of 9-7. Midway won 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Lenoir City (Lenoir City, TN)
