Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA), 14-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Comets now own a 11-2 record. They take the field next when they host Patrick County for a Piedmont challenge on Tuesday, April 26.

With the loss, Gretna falls to 1-12 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA) to face the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 27. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 6-10. Magna Vista won 14-9 in their recent non-league challenge against Floyd County (Floyd, VA)
