Pelham Panthers (Pelham, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Homewood Patriots (Homewood, AL), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 5-24 record. They take the field next when they travel to Helena for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 3. Pelham will battle a Huskies squad coming off a 7-4 non-league win over Vestavia Hills (Vestavia Hills, AL). The Huskies record now stands at 30-4.

With the loss, Homewood falls to 15-14 on the campaign. The Patriots host Shades Valley (Birmingham, AL) to battle the Mounties in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 27. The Mounties enter the challenge with a record of 8-12. Shades Valley lost 4-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Ramsay (Birmingham, AL)
