The Melrose Red Raiders routed the visiting Stoneham Spartans softball squad by a final score of 29-0 in Monday's league battle.

The Red Raiders (3-5) will now prepare for their battle against Winchester (Winchester, MA). The Sachems go into the Middlesex battle with a 1-4 record. In their last battle, Winchester was routed by Reading Memorial (Reading, MA), 23-6, in a league battle.

The Spartans now possess a 1-5 record. They play next when they travel to Reading Memorial for a Middlesex battle on Thursday, April 28. Stoneham will meet a Rockets squad coming off a 23-6 league win over Winchester (Winchester, MA). The Rockets record now stands at 6-1.
