Saugus Sachems (Saugus, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pentucket Regional (West Newbury, MA), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Sachems now own a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Swampscott for a Northeast contest on Wednesday, April 27. Saugus will play a Big Blue team coming off a 7-6 league loss to Medford (Medford, MA). The Big Blue record now stands at 4-4.

In their next game, the play the Newburyport Clippers (Newburyport, MA) in a Cape Ann Kinney contest, on Thursday, April 28. Pentucket Regional will attempt to move on its 2-3 season record. The Clippers come into the contest with a 2-4 record after their 16-13 non-league win over Danvers (Danvers, MA).
