Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) fans were thrilled Tuesday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Burns Bulldogs (Lawndale, NC), 3-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Golden Lions confront the Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A challenge, on Thursday, April 27. Shelby will attempt to better on its 8-7 season record. The Gryphons enter the challenge with a 9-3 record after their 1-0 league win over Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC).

The Bulldogs now have a 3-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Gaston for a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A test on Tuesday, May 2. Burns will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 9-0 non-league win over Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 12-1.
