Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC), 12-6 in a league challenge.

The Warhorses now own a 9-7 record. They take the field next when they host Avery County for a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Monday, May 1. Owen will face a Vikings squad coming off a 12-6 league loss to Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 1-11.

With the loss, Avery County falls to 1-11 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Owen (Black Mountain, NC) to face the Warhorses in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Monday, May 1.
