First Flight Nighthawks (Kill Devil Hills, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pasquotank County Panthers (Elizabeth City, NC), 5-2 in a league challenge.

The Nighthawks now own a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Currituck County for a Northeastern Coastal 2A/3A challenge on Tuesday, May 2. First Flight will face a Knights squad coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to Nansemond-Suffolk Academy (Suffolk, VA). The Knights record now stands at 10-9.

With the loss, Pasquotank County falls to 2-9 on the campaign. The Panthers host Lawrence Academy (Merry Hill, NC) to face the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 26. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 7-7. Lawrence Academy won 4-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Arendell Parrott Academy (Kinston, NC)
