Litchfield Purple Panthers (Litchfield, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Greenville Comets (Greenville, IL), 10-9 in a league challenge.

The Purple Panthers now own a 7-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hillsboro for a South Central challenge on Friday, April 28. Litchfield will battle a Hiltoppers squad coming off a 15-2 league loss to Staunton (Staunton, IL). The Hiltoppers record now stands at 5-11.

With the loss, Greenville falls to 4-18 on the campaign. The Comets host Bunker Hill (Bunker Hill, IL) to battle the Minutemen in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 26. The Minutemen enter the challenge with a record of 7-4. Bunker Hill lost 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Gillespie (Gillespie, IL)
