The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) and the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), saw Weddington's softball squad nip Porter Ridge by a count of 10-4.

The Warriors now sport a 10-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Marvin Ridge for a Southern Carolina 4A match on Thursday, April 27. Weddington will face a Mavericks squad coming off a 19-18 league win over Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Mavericks record now stands at 17-2.

With the loss, Porter Ridge falls to 9-7 on the campaign. The Pirates host Sun Valley (Monroe, NC) to face the Spartans in a Southern Carolina 4A match on Wednesday, April 26. The Spartans enter the match with a record of 6-9. Sun Valley won 7-6 in their recent league match against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC)
