The Bland County Bears softball team (Rocky Gap, VA), was routed 22-3 in Thursday's league test with the host Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA)

Coming up next, the Maroon Tide encounter the Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA) in a Mountain Empire test, on Tuesday, April 30. Galax will attempt to improve on its 5-9 season record. The Pioneers come into the test with a 7-7 record after their 2-0 league win over George Wythe (Wytheville, VA).

The Bears (1-8) will now prepare for their test against Northwood (Saltville, VA). The Panthers come into the non-league test with a 3-4 record. In their last test, Northwood was routed by Chilhowie (Chilhowie, VA), 13-3, in a league test.
