The crowd at Thursday's league match between the Castle Knights (Newburgh, IN) and the host Evansville Reitz Panthers (Evansville, IN), saw Castle's softball squad nip Evansville Reitz by a count of 7-2.

The Knights now sport a 15-4 record. They take the field next when they host Jasper for a Southern Indiana match on Saturday, April 27. Castle will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 7-3 non-league loss to Apollo (Owensboro, KY). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-8.

With the loss, Evansville Reitz falls to 8-8 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Vincennes Lincoln (Vincennes, IN) to face the Alices in a Southern Indiana match on Saturday, April 27. The Alices enter the match with a record of 7-7. Vincennes Lincoln won 9-8 in their recent league match against Evansville Central (Evansville, IN)
