Guilderland Flying Dutchmen (Guilderland Center, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Columbia Blue Devils (East Greenbush, NY), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Flying Dutchmen now own a 10-2 record. They take the field next when they host Saugerties for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 27. Guilderland will battle a Sawyers squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Our Lady of Lourdes (Poughkeepsie, NY). The Sawyers record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Columbia falls to 8-2 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Averill Park (Averill Park, NY) to battle the Warriors in a Section 2 Suburban - Blue challenge on Friday, April 26. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 4-5.
