Norwood Mustangs (Norwood, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Dedham Marauders (Dedham, MA), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bellingham for a Tri-Valley challenge on Monday, April 29. Norwood will battle a Blackhawks squad coming off a 12-11 league loss to Medfield (Medfield, MA). The Blackhawks record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Dedham falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Marauders host Westwood (Westwood, MA) to battle the Wolverines in a Tri-Valley challenge on Monday, April 29. The Wolverines enter the challenge with a record of 7-0. Westwood won 5-4 in their recent league challenge against Dover-Sherborn (Dover, MA)
