Lockport Porters (Lockport, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Sandburg Eagles (Orland Park, IL), 6-1 in a league challenge.

The Porters now own a 13-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Richards for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 26. Lockport will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 7-0 league loss to Lemont (Lemont, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 11-6.

With the loss, Sandburg falls to 12-6 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Homewood-Flossmoor (Flossmoor, IL) to battle the Vikings in a SouthWest Suburban challenge on Tuesday, April 30. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 9-11. Homewood-Flossmoor won 4-3 in their recent non-league game against St. Laurence (Burbank, IL)
