Spectators at Thursday's league match between the Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL) and the visiting Putnam County Panthers (Granville, IL), witnessed Marquette's softball squad tip Putnam County by a count of 7-0.

The Crusaders now sport a 11-6 record. They play next when they travel to Hall for a non-league match on Saturday, April 27. Marquette will face a Red Devils squad coming off a 15-1 non-league loss to Orion (Orion, IL). The Red Devils record now stands at 3-15.

With the loss, Putnam County moves to 9-10 on the season. The Panthers host El Paso-Gridley (El Paso, IL) to face the Titans in a non-league match on Friday, April 26. The Titans go into the match with a record of 3-10. El Paso-Gridley won 12-7 in their recent league match against Fieldcrest (Minonk, IL)
