Marshfield Tigers (Marshfield, WI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Merrill Bluejays (Merrill, WI), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they host Holmen for a non-league match on Friday, April 26. Marshfield will meet a Vikings squad coming off a 5-0 league loss to Tomah (Tomah, WI). The Vikings record now stands at 7-5.

With the loss, Merrill moves to 4-9 on the season. The Bluejays travel to Poynette (Poynette, WI) to meet the Pumas in a non-league match on Saturday, April 27. The Pumas go into the match with a record of 9-3. Poynette won 16-1 in their recent league match against Lakeside Lutheran (Lake Mills, WI)
