Rocori Spartans (Cold Spring, MN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm (Sauk Rapids, MN), 8-4 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they host Zimmerman for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 26. Rocori will battle a Thunder squad coming off a 9-0 non-league loss to Cambridge-Isanti (Cambridge, MN). The Thunder record now stands at 2-8.

With the loss, Sauk Rapids-Rice falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Storm travel to Fergus Falls (Fergus Falls, MN) to battle the Otters in a Central Lakes challenge on Tuesday, April 30. The Otters enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. Fergus Falls won 15-3 in their recent league challenge against Willmar (Willmar, MN)
