The Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) baseball trounced the host Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA), 16-0 in Friday's league challenge.
The Golden Eagles now own a 7-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Craig County for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 28. Staunton River will clash with a Rockets team coming off a 19-4 league loss to Highland (Monterey, VA). The Rockets record now stands at 0-9.
With the defeat, Fleming drops to 0-11 on the year. The Colonels host William Byrd (Vinton, VA) to clash with the Terriers in a Blue Ridge challenge on Tuesday, April 29. The Terriers go into the challenge with a record of 4-8. William Byrd lost 17-4 in their recent league challenge against Northside (Roanoke, VA)
