The Franklin County Eagles triumphed over the host Lord Botetourt Cavaliers softball squad by a count of 12-2 in Friday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Eagles meet the Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, April 28. Franklin County will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a 5-5 record after their 11-2 non-league loss to William Byrd (Vinton, VA).
The Cavaliers (7-4) will now prepare for their challenge against James River (Buchanan, VA). The Knights enter the non-league challenge with a 7-4 record. In their last challenge, James River overcame Craig County (New Castle, VA), 18-3, in a non-league challenge.
