Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) backers left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA), 10-9 in a league game.

With the triumph, Nelson County upgrades its record to 2-7 on the year. The Governors travel to Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA) to play the Bison in a non-league game on Tuesday, April 29. The Bison enter the game with a record of 8-3. Buffalo Gap won 18-0 in their recent league game against Staunton (Staunton, VA)

The Colonels now own a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to Lunenburg Central for a non-league game on Monday, April 28. Altavista will play a Chargers squad coming off a 8-1 league win over Amelia County (Amelia Court House, VA). The Chargers record now stands at 5-0.
