The crowd at Friday's league bout between the John Battle Trojans (Bristol, VA) and the host Union Bears (Big Stone Gap, VA), observed John Battle's softball team get by Union by a tally of 7-3.

The Trojans (8-7) will now prepare for their bout against Gate City (Gate City, VA). The Blue Devils go into the Mountain 7 bout with a 1-13 record. In their last bout, Gate City was routed by West Ridge (Blountville, TN), 13-4, in a non-league bout.

Coming up next, the Bears encounter the Ridgeview Wolfpack (Clintwood, VA) in a Mountain 7 outing, on Monday, April 28. Union will attempt to move on its 5-8 season record. The Wolfpack come into the outing with a 4-5 record after their 3-2 league win over Lee (Jonesville, VA).
