Spectators at Tuesday's league battle between the Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) and the host Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM), saw Wingate's baseball squad knock off Tohatchi by a count of 5-3.

Coming up next, the Bears play the Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM) in a 3A District 1 battle, on Thursday, April 28. Wingate will attempt to move on its 2-11 season record. The Hawks enter the battle with a 4-18 record after their 11-1 league loss to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM).

The Cougars now possess a 6-11 record.
