The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) and the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), saw South Caldwell's softball squad achieve victory over Ashe County by a count of 17-1.

The Spartans now sport a 12-2 record. They take the field next when they host Hibriten for a Northwestern 3A/4A match on Friday, April 29. South Caldwell will face a Panthers squad coming off a 5-2 non-league win over Bandys (Catawba, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 13-7.

With the loss, Ashe County falls to 3-13 on the campaign. The Huskies host Watauga (Boone, NC) to encounter the Pioneers in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Friday, April 29. The Pioneers come into the test with a record of 4-17. Watauga lost 13-11 in their recent non-league test against West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC)
