Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Maroon Tide now sport a 2-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to George Wythe for a Mountain Empire challenge on Wednesday, April 27. Galax will face a Maroons squad coming off a 7-6 league win over Auburn (Riner, VA). The Maroons record now stands at 6-3.

With the loss, Bland County falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Bears host Auburn (Riner, VA) to face the Eagles in a Mountain Empire challenge on Thursday, April 28. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 5-2. Auburn lost 7-6 in their recent league challenge against George Wythe (Wytheville, VA)
