Grove City Eagles (Grove City, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Slippery Rock Rockets (Slippery Rock, PA), 8-6 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Titusville for a District 10 Region 4 challenge on Thursday, April 28. Grove City will battle a Rockets squad coming off a 13-0 league loss to Franklin (Franklin, PA). The Rockets record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, Slippery Rock falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Rockets host Sharon (Sharon, PA) to battle the Tigers in a District 10 Region 4 challenge on Wednesday, April 27. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 4-6. Sharon lost 11-1 in their recent league challenge against Hickory (Hermitage, PA)
