Monterey Trail Mustangs (Elk Grove, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kennedy Cougars (Sacramento, CA), 8-2 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they host Laguna Creek for a Metropolitan Conference challenge on Tuesday, May 3.

With the loss, Kennedy falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to River City (West Sacramento, CA) to face the Raiders in a Metropolitan Conference challenge on Thursday, April 28. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 9-7. River City won 6-3 in their recent league challenge against Laguna Creek (Elk Grove, CA)
