In Wednesday's non-league contest, the Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA) softball team held off the host Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), by a margin of 11-10.
With the triumph, Altavista moves its record to 3-5 on the year. The Colonels travel to Buckingham (Buckingham, VA) to play the Knights in a non-league contest on Monday, May 1. The Knights come into the contest with a record of 2-6. Buckingham lost 17-0 in their recent non-league contest against Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA)
In their next game, the Governors play the Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, May 3. Nelson County will attempt to move on its 4-8 season record.
