St. Francis Troubadours (Sacramento, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Elk Grove Thundering Herd (Elk Grove, CA), 5-2 in a league challenge.

The Troubadours now own a 10-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Davis for a challenge on Thursday, April 27. St. Francis will battle a Blue Devils squad coming off a 6-3 league loss to Franklin (Elk Grove, CA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 8-6.

With the loss, Elk Grove falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Thundering herd travel to Lincoln (Lincoln, CA) to battle the Fighting Zebras in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 28. The Fighting Zebras enter the challenge with a record of 2-9. Lincoln won 20-11 in their recent league challenge against Nevada Union (Grass Valley, CA)
