Santana Sultans (Santee, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA), 9-3 in a league challenge.

The Sultans now own a 17-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Granite Hills for a challenge on Monday, May 1. Santana will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 9-7 league loss to Santana (Santee, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, Steele Canyon falls to 6-9 on the campaign. The Cougars host Helix (La Mesa, CA) to battle the Highlanders in a challenge on Friday, April 28. The Highlanders enter the challenge with a record of 11-5. Helix lost 6-4 in their recent league challenge against El Capitan (Lakeside, CA)
