Cannon County Lions (Woodbury, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Grundy County Yellowjackets (Coalmont, TN), 27-16 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 7-8 record. They take the field next when they host Cascade for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 1. Cannon County will battle a Champions squad coming off a 5-2 non-league loss to Blackman (Murfreesboro, TN). The Champions record now stands at 3-11.

With the loss, Grundy County falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Whitwell (Whitwell, TN) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 1. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 7-9. Whitwell lost 10-2 in their recent non-league challenge against North Jackson (Stevenson, AL)
